Built into a robust die-cast aluminum mounting frame the acoustic unit has a very low profile (90 mm- 3.5“ overall thickness) but houses powerful loudspeakers (rigid aluminum basket and TRIANGLE’s exclusive cellulose diaphragm for the midrange/woofer, titanium dome and aluminum horn for the tweeter, in the IW line), plus TRIANGLE’s famed RPC™ filtering system, which cancels any phase lag between the tweeter and the midrange sources.
This filter also provides a correction feature to compensate for the so-called "wall effect", an acoustic disturbance inherent in any in-wall installation.
In the IW line a selector is provided to adjust the level of the tweeter (from the front), for a better balance of higher frequencies.
The mechanical design has been carefully optimized for ease of installation and in-wall flush-mounting (a cutout template is supplied).
For easy mounting and removal, the support frame is secured via peripheral rotary latches operated from the front. The frame and front grille can be painted in the surrounding wall color (speaker screen included).
